Plaisance Place: Thirty-five single-family homes and townhomes built in a joint venture with Woodlawn Preservation and Investment Corporation, Plaisance Place heralded the first for-sale new construction in Woodlawn in 45 years. The development was awarded the Best Practices in Affordable Housing Design by UIC College of Architects; the Appreciation Award by the 20th Ward Alderman; and the prestigious Chicago Neighborhood Development award by the Richard Dreihus Foundation. The construction was wood-frame panels with a mix of brick, vinyl and stucco exteriors.
